I was raised in a Catholic home and attend Catholic elementary school. My marriage to a non-catholic Christian brought me to PCOM and the first time I attended a PCOM service, I knew I was “home”.
I’m widowed now and have a son named Wyatt who is a bright ray of sunshine to me! Our dog, Murphy, is also an important part of our family. I gave up a business career in Product marketing upon the birth of my son but have done school volunteer work for 4-5 years now. In 2010/2011 I worked as an instructional assistant at a local school to help a student with mild autism, succeed in school both academically and socially.I love to exercise – ride my bike, whatever – its my medicine. I have my nose in a good book almost every evening and I love being with my son, enjoying the outdoors – God’s beautiful ocean (especially in Kauai), and I try to appreciate at least one of his creations, daily.
I’ve been teaching Sunday school for a few years, and also Vacation Bible school. This past summer while teaching VBS, one of my student’s parents told me that her son came home that day and said, “Mom, I want to read the bible more”.. That was monumental for me! I knew I had reached at least one person. I walked on air for days after that.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will keep your paths straight” - Proverbs 3:5. This verse has helped me so many times, and continues to do so.
